Dr. Chudley Edward Werch, PhD is a recognized national authority at creatively applying scientific and theoretical knowledge of human behavior to advance the development and evaluation of innovative evidence-based interventions, products, and services shown to improve the health, fitness and positive development of adolescents and young adults throughout the US and overseas. Dr. Chudley Werch is the developer of the Behavior-Image Model (BIM). BIM is a conceptual framework for planning positive image-based multiple behavior interventions and coaching programs for youth. BIM has been applied to develop a number of innovative, evidence-based multiple behaivor programs shown to prevent and reduce substance abuse while increasing healthy habits, positive self-image and goal setting skills of adolescents and young adults. Dr. Werch is also the developer of SPORT and InShape brief motivational interventions that link substance abuse prevention with health and fitness promotion in easy to use single session programs. Both of these nationally recognized brief interventions are listed on the federal government's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and as evidence-based programs by Blueprints for Violence Prevention. Dr. Werch also developed the new Motivational Coaching Program (MCP). MCP provides adolescents with one-on-one interactive and personalized motivational sessions based on the innovative and evidence-based positive image multiple behavior model BIM. Dr. Chudley Edward Werch is interested in designing and managing science-based and theory-driven health and prevention projects, and solving problems that lead to more cost-effective and easy to use programs and materials for professionals and parents concerned about the well-being and positive development of young people. Dr. Werch is also keen on directing innovative research projects, and teaching others about research methods and health behavior. Dr. Werch has dedicated his professional life to the application of research methods for improving childhood, adolescent, and young adult health, wellness and quality of life, while preventing chronic disease, injury and premature mortality. Dr. Chudley Edward Werch, PhD lives in Jacksonville, Florida where he enjoys his family, including his three children and wife, walking on the beach, and hiking in nature throughout northeast Florida.
